Whether it is a companion animal suffering in someone’s home, wildlife threatened by human activity, or animals confined in industrial farming operations, their suffering matters.

The purpose of DefendAnimals is to inform, educate, and advocate for animals who cannot speak for themselves.

We bring attention to animal-welfare issues, report on developments affecting animals, share the work of humane organizations and rescue groups, and provide independent commentary on the laws, policies, and practices that shape animals’ lives.

Some organizations fight for stronger animal-protection laws. Others rescue animals, provide sanctuary, investigate cruelty, or work to preserve wildlife and natural habitats. Each plays an important role, and DefendAnimals seeks to help bring their efforts to a wider audience.

Animal cruelty is a crime when it violates the law, and those laws must be enforced. Protection should not depend on whether an animal is a beloved household pet, a farmed animal, or a wild creature. An abused cat deserves our concern, and so does an elephant, a horse, a pig, or any other animal subjected to needless suffering.

We believe that awareness is the beginning of change. When people understand what animals endure, they are better equipped to question harmful practices, support meaningful reforms, and demand accountability.

But awareness alone is not enough.

Silence allows cruelty to continue. Speaking out is where change begins.

DefendAnimals is an independent animal-advocacy website dedicated to sharing credible information, encouraging compassion, and giving readers opportunities to make a difference.

We recognize that people may approach animal-welfare issues from different perspectives. What unites us is the belief that animals are living beings whose suffering should never be dismissed or ignored.

Our mission is not simply to report what happens to animals. It is to encourage people to care about what happens next.

Humans cause this suffering, and humans have the power—and responsibility—to end it.

DefendAnimals was founded on a simple belief: Animals deserve compassion, protection, and freedom from cruelty….

["post-141","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry
<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.7 -
